The book talks about the medina as the historical centre of the city, its heart and focus.

It aims to show, through actual pictures, the true texture of the medina as a whole today. It allows the reader to see everything that characterizes and defines the medina; namely its neighborhoods, streets, squares, mosques, monuments, walls, souks, doors, fountains, fondouks, hotels, guest houses, restaurants, cafes, gardens, men, and of course, a full description with photos of the famous Jemaa El Fna.

The book has also covers the specialities of the culinary tradition of Marrakech and the characteristics that connect it to the city and the medina of Marrakech.

Moreover, the book shows us the men whose destiny is closely linked to Marrakech, both in the past and the present as well as foreigners (in total more than 2,700 photos of personalities throughout its history).

In fact this book is a directory, a guide and an aide memoire, which aims to be as comprehensive and specific as possible. The author states that this book has no connotation of either political or partisan positions whatsoever.

This book is a tribute to the city where the author was born and grew up, to which he has given so much, as he said “Marrakesh, you are great and you'll always be”.

Marrakech is an amazing city full of winding streets, spice sellers, snake charmers, belly dancers and wonderfully warm people.
