The action plan relating to the strategic partnership between Morocco and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will be soon submitted to a meeting of the Foreign ministers of these countries due in the coming days, Morocco’s Foreign minister, Saad Dine el Otmani announced on Monday.
The action plan covers the areas of the economy, agriculture, telecoms, environment, renewable energies, tourism, higher education, justice, social development, culture, media, youth, sport and the political action, el Otmani told MPs at the House of Representatives.
He said nine committees have been working last year on the project, which was discussed at a recent meeting between Moroccan and GCC senior officials.
Relations between Morocco and the GCC were further reinforced during the recent visit of HM King Mohammed VI to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE and Kuwait. These countries have pledged to contribute USD5bn to boost the Moroccan economy, especially through funding development projects in a number of areas throughout the coming five years.
