Morocco is willing to share its experience in agriculture with the African countries, notably those of western Africa, which face up to the challenges of food security and modernization of production tools, said on Monday in Dakar Morocco's Prime Minister Abbas El Fassi, who represents HM King Mohammed VI in the second International Dakar Agricultural Forum 2011.

"I am honoured to represent HM King Mohammed VI in this event which brings together heads of African state and government on a topical issue and read the Sovereign's message to the participants in this event," El Fassi said.

He added that Morocco will showcase in this meeting its leading experience in terms of developing the agriculture sector in order to improve the crops' quality and quantity. The Moroccan experts will notably present in Dakar the large-scale Morocco’s “Plan Maroc Vert” (Green Plan) to promote the country’s agricultural sector and make it a locomotive of the national economy, as it aims to meet the domestic market needs and satisfy the requirements of export, he said.

Morocco’s national strategy for agricultural development has always been closely linked to the sustainable development goals and the fight against poverty,” El Fassi pointed out, recalling that Morocco has many successful cooperation experiences with various international partners such as the World Bank and the European Union.
