"We hope that Africa will remain united and move in the same direction. (...) We cannot do without the important contribution of Morocco and its people to the development of the continent," Mussa told MAP on the sidelines of the Forum on Human Development, held under the chairmanship of HM King Mohammed VI.
He said that for Malawi and its president, Bingu wa Mutharika, who holds the presidency of the African Union (AU), it is important that Morocco finds its rightful standing within the African fold.
Malawi and Morocco have always had "excellent relations and we are keen to further consolidate them," he said, noting other diverse areas of cooperation, such as agriculture, merchant shipping and exchange of scientific know-how.
“We have learned much from the debates of the Forum of Agadir," he said.
Fifty African ministers are taking part in the two-day Forum which is bringing together more than 1700 participants.
