To celebrate the American "Women's History Month," the cultural section of the U.S. Embassy is organizing a visit to Morocco by film maker Amy Williams, from 10 to 17 March, 2010.

During her visit to Morocco, Ms. Williams will participate in a series of workshops around two documentaries:” Women of the Sea” and the “Sounds of the Heart” in specialized schools in Casablanca, Marrakech, Ouarzazate and Rabat.

The documentary "Women of the Sea" will be presented on Sunday, March 14th at 6 pm in the Cinema Rif, Tangier, in cooperation with the Rif Cinema Library of Tangier. This presentation will be followed by a discussion in the presence of Ms. Amy Williams and Moroccan movie director Mrs. Farida Belyazid.

Ms. Amy Williams has founded her film production company Bal Maiden Films 1992 and received a degree of Film Production from the University of California at Los Angeles. She benefited from the use of new technologies which have had an impact on her substantive work and helped her explore new approaches to storytelling and develop projects across different cultures.

Among her works are “No Sweat” in 2006 and “Deadly Oasis” in 2004, and “Tales of Women from Las Vegas” in 2001 and other works.
