With over one hundred participants from Morocco and from abroad (Belgium, France, Italy, Sweden, United Kingdom, UAE, etc.), the symposium aims, according to a press release of CCME, to contribute to the writing of the long history of Moroccan athletes residing abroad, from the mid-1930s to new generations of Moroccan immigrant athletes through the legendary figures of the 1950s and 1960s.
Numerous scientific papers will explore the contribution of these generations to the country of residence and the development of the Moroccan national sports.
Combining academic rigor and strength of the testimony of athletes the symposium also aims to pay tribute to those migrants whose courage and talent have marked all disciplines.
The seminar will devote some time to discuss the young athletes born abroad and the choices they are often forced to make about the country they will represent during their entire career and during international competitions.
Alongside the conference, and in partnership with Moroccan TV channel 2M, a special evening dedicated to Moroccan sportsmen of the world will be broadcast Tuesday, July 27. Participants will include women and men who have always marked or mark the Moroccan sport scene across all disciplines. A special tribute will be made to a few names who have written beautiful pages of sport.
