Italian director Carlo Sironi won the Grand Prize of the 10th Mediterranean Short Film Festival of Tangier, which ended Saturday, for his film "Cargo".

The closure ceremony of the festival was marked by the presentation of a special award commemorating the 10th anniversary of this event, given to the great American director Terry Gilliam, who participated in the official competition with his film "The Wholly Family".

The Special Jury Prize went back to Morocco's Hicham Ayouch, author of "As they say," (Comme ils disent) while the Croatian Jure Pavlovic won Best Director Award for his short film "Umbrella" and the young director Maryam Touzani won best Screenplay for the film "When they sleep" (Quand ils dorment).

Best interpretations prizes went to the Albanian Reshat Arbana for her role in "Beyond the River" by Sabir Kanaqi and Turkish Belcim Bilgin for his performance in "Silence" by Rizan Yesilbas .

In addition, a special youth prize was awarded to Slovenian director Miha Hocevar, author of the film "Daddy Can I drive?" .
