Initiated by the "Spirit of Fez Foundation", the Festival of Sacred Music in Fez, under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, will be held this year under the theme "Re-enchanting the World. Tribute to Omar al Khayyam".
The Festival, which has acquired over time a universal fame, promotes dialogue and understanding between cultures and civilizations of the world through sacred music, said the director general of the "Spirit of Fez Foundation," Faouzi Skali, when presenting the 18th edition of the Festival.
The Fez Festival of World Sacred Music is dedicated to the arts and spirituality in human development and reconciliation and understanding between peoples and cultures, added Skalli, welcoming the growing interest of Catalans to this cultural event.
The programme for this 18th edition of the Festival include concerts of American jazz by musician Archie Shepp, who propose a show called "Roots of the Blues and Gospel", American artist Joan Baez, and the Icelandic Bjork. One of the highlights of this festival, will be the concert of the two stars of the Arabic song Wadie El Safi and Lotfi Bouchnak.
