The event is hosted by the city of Casablanca from November 16 to 19, under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI. In parallel to the forum, an international fair of contemporary art called "Top Twenty Five" will accompany this event. "The forum is a project of Casablanca. It is designed by and for the city. The only person who is not Moroccan in this great event is me," said Victor del Campo, managing director of Foro Casablanca & Top-25 Art Fair and President of the Foundation "Temas del Arte", initiator of the event.
Foro Casablanca will also examine on 17 and 18 November current cultural issues. Two days expected to be rich in reflection and research on topics to be discussed by experts and professionals in the world of art. Conferences on the menu revolve around the following topics: "The promotion and internationalization of cultural industries through the government," "Social, cultural activism and censorship," with the participation of specialists and bloggers in new information technology and social activism.
Also on the program: "Legal Cultural Industries and Copyright", "The Role of Women in Arab Cultural Industries", organized by Casa Arabs in Spain, "Cultural Identity, Cultural Tourism and its Importance in Local Development," with the participation of experts of cultural tourism and project managers for local development; "Economic and social impact of cultural industries in the city," with the participation of experts in the field of economics and culture. The forum will equally address the issue of "Cultural Agents in Africa and the Mediterranean."
Through these think tanks, stake-holders will have the opportunity to meditate on how to implement the recommendations drawn from this forum in order to establish the industrialization of culture. In fact, one of the objectives of this demonstration is to show that the culture industry is likely to generate a culture of quality. And it requires that the administration and policies understand it. "In a very short time, Morocco will become a major industrial power that can count on culture. It is therefore important to develop this sector. Casablanca, because of its economic, geographical, cultural potential and its proximity to Europe, merits its own fair of contemporary art".
On the sidelines of this important event 25 galleries from all over the world will gather in a show called Top-25 Art Fair. On a total area of 850 square meters, these galleries represent many regions of the world concerned with the importance of the development of cultural industries: regions like Europe, with artists based in Barcelona, Madrid, Frankfurt, Valencia, Bilbao, etc.., or galleries in the United States, especially New York.
Since the launch of Foro Casablanca, Victor del Campo has continued to hammer the famous phrase: "Culture is a Weapon of Mass Construction."
