HM the King offered a dinner to mark the opening of the 10th edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival




HRH Prince Moulay Rachid presided on Friday at the Palais des Congres in Marrakech, at a dinner hosted by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, during the official opening of the 10th Marrakech International Film Festival.

At the beginning of the ceremony, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid was greeted by Melita Toscan du Plantier, Festival Director, Chairman of the Jury, the actor, director, producer and director of the American theater, John Malkovich, as well as Jury members, members of the Foundation of Marrakech International Film Festival and Moroccan and foreign actors.


HRH Prince Moulay Rachid was also greeted by Aziz Akhannouch, Minister of Agriculture and Maritime Fishing, Abdeslam Ahizoune, president and CEO of Morocco Telecom, Abdelhamid Addou, Director General of the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT ), Dalil Guendouz, CEO of the National Office of Airports (ONDA), Marie Christine Zaragoza, Director General of TV5 Monde, as well as representatives of institutions and groups of Moroccan and foreign partners of the Festival and others.

The opening ceremony of this major event in world cinema, held under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, was marked by the presence of a galaxy of personalities from different backgrounds, especially the art world, film and culture, and was followed by the screening of "Henry's Crime" by director Malcolm Venville.

The tenth International Film Festival of Marrakech opened Friday night at the Palace de Congres of the red city, in the presence of an audience of VIPs and national and global celebrities.

Under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, the FIFM is in official competition, this year, 15 feature films from around the world compete to win the "Golden Star" and enshrines for the first time, a competition of short films.

"Henry's crime", a film by British director Malcolm Venville, opened Friday night the 10th International Film Festival of Marrakech (FFIM), which will pay tribute to French cinema, noted AFP.
