This seminar will be marked by the presentation of the findings of a study conducted by the Anna Lindh Foundation on the image of the Arab and Muslim world in the Spanish press, according to a statement from the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation.
This quantitative and qualitative research was based on an analysis of the content published during the first quarter of 2007 in the main Spanish dailies (El Pais, El Mundo, La Razon, ABC, La Vanguardia and El Periodico de Cataluna) on the Arab world and Muslim.
In this seminar, the Anna Lindh Foundation will present its journalism prizes open to the participation of 43 member countries of the Union for the Mediterranean (UFM) in five categories: Art on paper, online blog, radio production, television production and reporting on conflicts.
"Journalism and cultural survey in the Mediterranean," “The vision of Western and Arab conflict through the media," "Society, culture and religion through the media," "Culture of blogs and cultural journals," "Islam and the radicalization process of media" and "Women in the Arab and Western media" are the topics to be discussed at this meeting.
Created in 1992, the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation has the central objective of the reconciliation between peoples and cultures of the Mediterranean, in a spirit of peace, tolerance and dialogue.
The Anna Lindh Foundation is an institution shared by 43 countries of the UFM whose goal is to contribute to bringing people from both sides of the Mediterranean, enhance mutual respect between cultures and support civil society which devotes its efforts to developing a common future for the region.
