The celebration of World Poetry (March 21) was officially launched on Friday evening in Marrakech at a ceremony attended by an audience of personalities and talents who spoke to share their emotions, their vision and dreams with others.
This ceremony was an opportunity for representatives of The House of Poetry in Morocco, Regional Development Center of Tensift (CDRT), Association of Malhun Amateurs and University Cadi Ayad to celebrate of this great artistic event in Marrakech, the home of eminent scholars and poets, such as Mohamed Ben Brahim, called "Poet of the Red City" (Chai'r El Hamra).
The celebration of World Poetry is an opportunity to recognize the vitality of this art in the Moroccan scene, promote poetry and give recognition and new momentum and to bring up to date this form of literary expression, they said. Justifying the choice of Marrakech to celebrate this day, The House of Poetry in Morocco said that this choice is another acknowledgment of the contribution of the Red City to the enrichment of national poetry. The launching ceremony of this event of two days was followed by two evenings of poetry of Abderrafie Jouahri, Touria Iqbal, Ahmed Ait Belhaj Ouarham , Ahmed Asid, Merrah Mohamed Ahmed Lemsyeh, Abdelhamid Jmahri, Nabil Mounsir, Driss Rahmoun, and Mohamed Namila. Both nights were interspersed with musical interludes of Rayhan Mustafa, Abdellah el Fekhar and Younes el Azali. The closing ceremony on Sunday brought together poets such as Siham Bouhlal, Malika Assimi Mohamed Aziz El-Hassini, Abderrahim El-Khassar, Jamal Amache, Najat Rashid Zbayer, and Mensoum. The launching ceremony of this event took place in the presence of the Wali of the region Marrakech-Tensift-El Haouz, Mr. Mohamed Mhidia. Related Stories
