Foreign Minister Taib Fassi Fihri
In an interview published Friday in the wake of the royal speech announcing comprehensive constitutional reforms, Fassi Fihri recalled that "monarchy in Morocco represents a unifying and a catalyst element."
The Sovereign "personally led the process of social and economic modernization since his accession to the throne, eleven years ago, and has continued since then to increase the visits to all the Kingdom's regions to find positive solutions to issues which concern his people and listen to the needs of young people," he said.
Morocco, he added, is committed to the path of freedom of expression and political pluralism, pointing out that HM the King as Commander of the Faithful (Amir al-Mu’minin) enjoys “a deep legitimacy” among Moroccans.”
