A joint statement issued, on Wednesday in Rabat, at the end of the visit to Morocco of Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Ghait, said that the foreign ministers of both countries reiterated the position of Morocco and Egypt supporting the brotherly Palestinian people's just cause and their right to establish their independent state with Al Quds as its capital, calling on all Palestinian actors to unify their ranks and reject the disputes to reach national reconciliation.
In this context, the Moroccan side welcomed the efforts made by Egypt to unify the Palestinian ranks.
For its part, the Egyptian side praised the continuing efforts of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, to preserve the civilizational identity of the Al Quds city and fight attempts aimed to undermine this identity in order to safeguard its character as a symbol of coexistence and tolerance among monotheistic religions.
It lauded the achievements of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency under the supervision of HM the King and his great instructions, including successful programs that benefited the Palestinian population in the holy city.
The two officials also discussed Arab, Islamic and African questions, highlighting the convergence of their views on these issues.
They stressed the importance of speeding up the joint Arab action, based on economic development and genuine partnerships to serve Arab interests.
The Moroccan side hailed the important role played by Egypt during its presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement and the Union for the Mediterranean.
Both parties emphasized the need to establish a genuine equal partnership between the two shores of the Mediterranean to achieve stability, peace and sustainable development.
Regarding intercontinental cooperation, the two countries called for promoting cooperation and complementarity between the Arab, African, Asian, European and American spaces.
