Morocco, Germany eager to strengthen their cooperation in promising sectors, FM says

Morocco and Germany are sharing the willingness of developing their political dialogue, strengthening and diversifying their cooperation in promising sectors, notably clean energy, modern agriculture, services, tourism and intercultural dialogue , said the Moroccan Foreign Minister Taib Fassi Fihri on Tuesday.

    The Minister, who was speaking at a joint press conference with his German counterpart after the opening of the 13th Kronberg Talks, highlighted Germany's role as "a privileged witness of Morocco within the European Union (EU) so that the Southern Mediterranean and the EU get involved in a new partnership pact".

    The most important thing is that Europe becomes aware that there is a vital need to organize mutual relations based on solidarity, democracy, development and growth of mutual benefits, added Fassi Fihri.

    After recalling that the EU financial perspectives will not be known until 2013, the minister said "financial support is not essential, and it must be integrated in an overall vision".

    Answering a question on the monarchy, he emphasized that the latter plays a fundamental role, in the sense that it constitutes the cement of the nation’s defense, territorial integrity and values shared by all Moroccans.
