Morocco acceded Wednesday to two OECD instruments, one related to integrity, probity and transparency in the conduct of business and international finance (PIT) and the other on green growth.

This membership was formalized by the signature of the two statements, at the Headquarters of the Organization in Paris, by the Minister in charge of General Affairs and Governance, Mohamed Najib Boulif, and the Secretary General of the Organization, Angel Gurria, on the sidelines of the OECD Forum 2012.

Like Morocco, Tunisia joined the two statements and a third on International Investment and Multinational Enterprises in which the Kingdom is already a member.

Speaking on this occasion, the Secretary General of OECD, Angel Gurria, welcomed the commitment by Morocco and Tunisia to increase their multilateral cooperation, ensuring that the OECD instruments "support the transformation process in the countries of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) ".

"By adhering to best practices in the fight against corruption, good governance and international investment frameworks, Tunisia and Morocco sent a strong message that they want to adopt best practices in their quest to build more open and inclusive societies," said Gurria.
