This openness will allow Renault's plant in Tangier, which will have an annual production capacity of 400,000 units, to supply both domestic and international markets, Ghosn said at a meeting on "The risks of underinvestment in infrastructure," held as part of the World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region (October 26-28).

Welcoming Morocco's efforts to strengthen infrastructure, Ghosn said that the kingdom has a large human potential. "Morocco has a skilled labour which is ready to improve itself," he said.

Speaking on this occasion, president of the European Union's economic cooperation council, Andrea Canino, said that before launching any infrastructure project, the country's authorities must engage in a dialogue with the operators concerned to examine the usefulness of the project and its impact in the short and long term.

This approach has been adopted by Morocco, Canino said, noting that the Moroccan government had initiated discussions on the usefulness of the Tangiers-Med port project with international operators before its launch.
