London - The Moroccan pavilion was a real attraction of the Africa village, opened Saturday in the famous Kensington Gardens, central London, on the occasion of the Olympic Games being held in the British capital.

Officially inaugurated in the presence of an important Moroccan delegation including the Minister of Tourism, Lahcen Haddad, and Morocco's ambassador to Britain, Joumala Chrifa Lalla, the Moroccan pavilion was visited by the Ivorian president, Alassan Ouattara, the Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia, the British Foreign Office minister in charge of the Middle East and north Africa, Alistair Burt, and several other officials.

Covering an area of ​​150 m2, the Moroccan pavilion showcases the best assets of cultural tourism in the Kingdom, offering visitors the opportunity to discover the cultural and artistic aspects of a country which has kept its authenticity while embracing the values ​​of modernity and openness.

Implemented through the provision and sponsorship of the Embassy of Morocco in the UK, the Moroccan pavilion is a partnership between the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), the Maison de l'Artisan , Export Morocco and the Moroccan National Olympic Committee.

Exhibition of handicrafts, cooking demonstrations, Moroccan food tastings were enriched the event, highlighting the Best of Morocco.

Heroes of the Moroccan sport were honored with an exhibition of photographs by the Moroccan National Olympic Committee.
