Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Himmich stressed that this event will give impetus to the links of brotherhood and will multiply exchanges among intellectuals, artists and institutions of both countries. "We came from the Atlantic to the Arabian Gulf to share with Qatar the realization of the slogan of Arab culture our nation, and Doha is its capital," said the minister.
Mr Al Kuwari expressed his admiration for the cultural wealth of the kingdom: “this event is an opportunity to discover a unique country in the Islamic world, rich in books, poetry, thought, creativity and heritage", said the Qatari minister. "This week is also an opportunity for us to share our experiences to cope with the difficulties of communication in the Arab world," he said.
The evening continued with two performances of Moroccan folk music, with the troupe Rekba of Zagora and the music of Hassani Bnat Aichata, from Guelmim.
The first evening of the event has also seen the opening by the Ambassador of Morocco, Mr. Abdelaadim Tber and Secretary General of Qatar Ministry of Culture, Mubarak bin Nasser al-Khalifa, a major Moroccan cultural exhibition in the hall of the theatre.
The two culture ministers and several Arab ambassadors have also visited the exhibition before taking part in the official evening.
