Mr Benkirane has stated in a press statement, that this meeting was an opportunity to discuss conditions of the the tourism sector, which represents a vital sector in Morocco, because it injects 60 billion dirhams into the State budget and employs half a million people divided between direct and indirect jobs.
He added that this sector, which represents an open workshop on the development both inside and outside and contributes to the opening of Morocco on the world, highlighting its merits, noting that this meeting also focused on examining ways of improving the Moroccan tourist product to be competitive internationally.
President of the National Tourism Federation, Ali Ghanem, said the meeting was devoted to many issues including the situation in the tourism sector, the results of the past year and the current situation, difficulties faced by professionals and measures to guarantee the sustainability of the sector and make a locomotive for the national economy.
President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Companies (CGEM), Mohammed Hourani, said the meeting was an opportunity to exchange views on future action to be performed as part of the 2020 strategy that requires an urgent strengthening as part of the "High Authority Governance" plan, through the management of this strategy and monitoring of its steps to ensure the success of this plan which provides creating a large number of job positions and achieving 20 million tourists by 2020.
