Tanjazz, from September 21 to 25 , TangierThe 12th Tanjazz festival will be held from September 21 to 25 in Tangier, announced the organisers in Casablanca on tuesday night.
This edition will bring together a stellar roster of performances that will occur on different stages, among others, the Palais des Nations and the Italian Institute. Among the groups invited are Roy Hargrove Quintet and Sarah Lenka and her quartet. Roy Hargrove and his muted trumpet deploy a brilliance of ideas, emotional intensity and generosity, a technique at the service of the greatest figures, both in respect of heritage, open to the Afro-Cuban, funk or hip hop, that in his personal style is rooted in the soul bare with the formation RH Factor. Sarah Lenka is one of those discoveries in which female voices give Tanjazz a secret: a breath, a grain, a delicacy of phrasing that earned her flattering comparisons of Bessie Smith to Billie Holiday or Dinah Washington. She saw her desperate love songs as an actress embodies her role sometimes with a touch of sweetness reminiscent of Marilyn. And also the Moroccan Fouad Hani develops his bambaraouia music with sounds of different instruments (traditional and modern), and surprises as usual. He will be joined by young musicians, the group Yabato Nakimya (pacifists) composed of professional Moroccan and Congolese musicians . Also this year, organizers program has concerts for children run by Roger and Muzicaloustiks Cactus. For this new concert, Roger and Cactus have chosen a trio of acoustic guitar, accordion and percussion. The songs, colors jazzy, funk, blues, reggae, and the kids and their parents will clap and it may even be that all this ends with a few dance steps. MAP Yacout Info
