The Marrakech Festival Foundation recently held its annual general meeting chaired by the Wali of Marrakech Tensift Al Haouz region in the presence of directors representing local government bodies, institutions and professional associations in the tourism sector.



The 46th National  Festival of Popular Arts (FNAP) will take place 1-9 July 2011
The mission of this Foundation is in the development, intensification and diversification of the artistic and cultural city of Marrakesh and its region.

The meeting proceeded with the change of office and appointment of Mr. Karim El Achak as new president of the Foundation.

The new office of the Foundation Festival of Marrakech is grateful for the confidence the board has expressed its respect and will work to enhance the specificity and richness of the editorial line of the National Festival of Popular Arts (FNAP) and develop policies that will strengthen the cultural and artistic animation of Marrakesh and its region.

Upgrading of its status as one of the oldest festivals in the country which enhances the plural culture of Morocco. As stated by the President:''We have set a goal: sustainability, innovation and promotion for the revival of folk arts as a national heritage. And upgrading of status: one of the oldest festivals in the country witnessed a plural culture of Morocco. Mr. Karim El Achak adds that the mandate of the Foundation is in the excellence and quality of its programming with specific objectives in the short and medium term actions which will strengthen the Foundation. Marrakech hosts FNAP once a year with all the culture and wealth of the hinterland which must be included in the celebration while promoting and enhancing the participation of the entire event for the City.

The 46th edition will take place from 1st to July 9th 2011 and will be characterised by a program including all its great achievements and of course the previous release of its new vision. This program will include the Badii Palace and its grandeur of yesteryear. The parade will be an essential meeting place for art with the people of Marrakech and its hosts. Other spaces and places will be invested in a lineup as the city is bustling during the 9 day festival. An effort will be made to the repositioning of this festival as a major event in the cultural landscape of our city and it continues to play its important role in the social, cultural, artistic life and the boosting of tourism and the economic development of the region
