The 9th International Film Festival of Marrakech, 4-12 December

Held under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, this Festival will pay tribute to Korean cinema which, with a hundred years of existence, is now one of the most dynamic in the world.

The Korean film industry is a driving force across the Asian continent. We are witnessing a renewal of authors and genres and Korean filmmakers who have achieved international fame as well as Young writers like Na Hong-jin who have promising future.

Morocco was honored in 2004, then Spain in 2005, Italy in 2006, Egypt in 2007, and Great Britain in 2008, the Festival will celebrate this year the Asian country indispensable in the global film scene: Korea.

The jury of this 9th festival will be chaired by the Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami, who was awarded a Palme d'Or at Cannes in 1997 for "A Taste of Cherry".
