Mr Bensouda presented to the assemby the the track record of the festival , which is the oldest in Moroccoat the end of his mandate and showed the foundation to be surplus.
In figures, the festival has recorded over four years more than 1,100,000 spectators, the participation of 3,500 artists, over 500 journalists for media coverage and 700 articles published in newspapers nationally and internationally.
On this occasion, the General Assemby thanked and congratulated the foundation president and his team for all that has been undertaken and efforts over the past four years to reposition the FNAP among the major festivals of the arts in the Kingdom and to enable it to regain its past influence.
The General Assembly unanimously approved both the moral and financial reports of the foundation and the auditor's report certifying them under the fiscal year 2010 in line with previous years. It then discharged the outgoing officers of the foundation.
Mr Karim Al Achak was elected president of the foundation and took control for the FNAP from the 2011 edition.
It will be a new team because the previous staff is also standing down to inject a new dynamic for the FNAP..
Mr. Karim El Achak, an architect based in the city of Marrakech, is a very involved citizen in the cultural life of city and its region. He currently chairs the foundation for the Diwan Al Koutoubia agency in charge of the "garden of knowledge." An ambitious cultural project revolved around the plan to redevelop the area around the Koutoubia, with among other projects, the construction of a library, an auditorium and exhibition halls. He is working with the Tamesloht Association and remains active in general in the field of art and Moroccan heritage.
The new president will soon meet the members of his office, select the dates and theme of FNAP 2011 and the screenwriter for the Badii Palace.
