For Persian born ceramic artist Farideh, porcelain painting was a natural progression from her previous life as a fashion designer in London and New York. One of the "Fine Arts" which takes years to perfect, Farideh took up art from a decade ago when she and her husband began building their Moroccan home. After creating original and exquisite designs, she hand paints each piece individually, with many firings to produce the rich harmonies and debth of colour before finally banding it in gold.
The beautiful creation in her current creation are inspired by her childhood in Persia, where the love of roses is ultimately connected with the poetry and culture of everyday life. In this series the decorative surface of the china contains wonderful depictions of the six stages of the life cycle of the rose; starting from bud to the wilting and dying of the flower. Drawing on her passion for gardening, Farideh's comtemporary rose designs captures the splendour of the Persian and Moroccan blooms she had nurtured in her garden ouasis in Marrakech.
Other designs focus on her passion for the natural world mixed with comtemporary designs.
