The Moroccan-Spanish Parliamentary Forum welcomes the reform process led by Morocco
The Final Declaration of the Moroccan-Spanish Parliamentary Forum, which was held Wednesday in Rabat, has welcomed the process of political, social and economic reforms led by Morocco, whose coronation was the adoption of a Constitution giving impetus to build democracy and lay the foundations for sustained economic development.

It was decided to establish a committee composed of the Secretaries General of the legislative bodies of the two countries under the auspices of the Presidents of the chambers to monitor the implementation of decisions and prepare for the next Forum meeting, on a date to be fixed by mutual agreement.

The two sides stressed the importance of the roles of Parliamentarians in the reconciliation between the two kingdoms and strengthen the climate of understanding, dialogue, coordination and partnership, whereas the preservation of security and peace in the Mediterranean region is an absolute priority for the prosperity of the two peoples and stimulating investment.

Appropriate solution to the problem of illegal immigration is achieved through the adoption of common policies in the areas of security, controlled borders and sustainable development, noting that both parties agree to work together and on an ongoing basis to encourage the use of the Spanish language in Morocco and the Arabic language in Spain, and to promote friendship and cooperation in the interests of the two peoples and future generations.

The final declaration of both parties also invites political and social forces of the two countries to support any initiative to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation, in light of the economic and social crisis, notably through the establishment of appropriate conditions for the development of trade and investment between the two countries, while strengthening Spain's position as a privileged cultural and economic partner of Morocco.
