Morocco's economy is moving in the right direction and the reforms initiated by the Kingdom in this area have already begun to bear fruit, said Friday in Marrakech, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, economist and former CEO of International Monetary Fund (IMF).
"I believe in the Moroccan economy, which is already an emerging economy going in the right direction, and I think that what is happening in Morocco and the very important reforms are very significant, " Strauss-Kahn said at the inaugural conference of the Private University of Marrakech (UPM), under the theme "Emerging countries in global governance".
He noted in this context that despite the difficulties and risks in a challenging international economic environment, the Moroccan economy has been able to withstand the crisis, managing to better effect, saying that Morocco should renew its cooperative relations with its traditional partners, while extending it to others, especially in Africa.
"I continue to believe that the Moroccan presence in the sub-Sahelian area through finance, banking and aeronautics are more likely to reinforce the economy and the best place to maintain privileged relations of partnership and cooperation not only with the EU but also with the South," he said.
