The Moroccan movie 'kandisha' is in the official competition of the 8th edition of the IFFM

The Moroccan film "Kandisha" directed by Jerome Cohen-Olivar will be presented in the official competition at the 8th International Film Festival of Marrakech (IFFM), along with 14 other films of several countries.

It's "100" by Chris Martinez (Philippines), "Im Winter ein Jahr" by Caroline Link (Germany), "Sveitabruokaup" by Valdis OSKARSDOTTIR (Iceland), "Eden" by Declan Recks (Ireland), "El nido vacio "by Daniel Burman (Argentina)," Flammen & Citronen" by Ole Christian Madsen (Denmark)," Frozen River" by Courtney Hunt," Prince Of Broadway" by Sean Baker," Kasky” by Aku Louhimies (Finland).

Other movies are programmed such as  "Il primo giorno d'inverno" by Mirko Locatelli (Italy), "Dixi of Tiankong" by Zhang Chi (China), "Pora Umierac" by Dorota Kedzierzawska (Poland), "Diko Pole" by Mikhail Kalatozishvili (Russia), "Zero Bridge" by Tariq Tapa (USA & India).

This eighth edition of the International Film Festival of Marrakech, scheduled from 14 to 22 November, will also reward the best movies in competition through the four different awards that would classify these films. The first award that is “the Etoile d'Or” ( the golden star) is the Grand Prize, there is also the Jury prize, the best male and the best female performance prizes.

The closing ceremony will be marked by the screening of the film "8" by the directors Jane Campion, Mira Nair, Gael Garcia Bernal, Jan Kounen, Gaspar Noé, Abderrahmane Sissako, Gus Van Sant and Wim WendersFrance. Concerning the films that are out of competition, the organizers have planned a dozen of movies including the Moroccan film "Amours voilés" (veiled loves)by Aziz Salmy. "Disgrace" by Steve Jacobs (Australia & South Africa), "Gloss" by Andrei Konchalovsky (Russia), "Far North" by Asif Kapadia (USA & United Kingdom), "For Her" by Fred Cavaye (France), "The Duchess" by Saul Dibb (United Kingdom), "Body of Lies" by Ridley Scott (USA), "The girl in the park" by David Auburn (USA). "What just happened?" by Barry Levinson, the chair of the jury, was screened on the opening ceremony that took place in the Palais des Congrès.
