The festival will be first held in London in spring 2011, said the initiators of this project during a meeting Tuesday night at the headquarters of the British Parliament.
Like the Fes Festival, this event aims to promote principles of tolerance, multiculturalism and pluralism in the world, said Mohammed Sarwar, Labour MP for the Scottish city of Glasgow.
"The Fez Festival-London-Lahore set itself the goal of conveying the message of multiculturalism and pluralism," he said, adding that "the spirit of Fez has explored new horizons of understanding and world peace".
The organizers of this international event aspire to build an understanding that transcends borders and embraces all religions in a spirit of reconciliation through music, art and dialogue.
The Festival, whose 2nd edition will be held in Lahore in late 2012 or early 2013, provides seminars on various topics, exhibitions of photos, and music concerts.
The British Parliament said in a document that the London edition of the Festival will be a good prelude to the 2012 Olympics and that the Spirit of Fes promotes a new form of understanding for world peace.
