The first Azalay Festival from April 21 to 23 in Ouarzazate
The first edition of the Azalay Festival will take place from April 21 to 23 next to Ouarzazate, on the initiative of the province of Ouarzazate and the Ouarzazate Foundation for sustainable development.
Ouarzazate is confirmed in its vocation as a tourist attraction and film dedicated primarily to culture and music of Africa, this event is considered a new event that will enrich the cultural landscape of Morocco and the African continent, according to organizers. The choice of Ouarzazate to host this festival is motivated by the fact that this region has long been a vibrant commercial hub in terms of trans-Saharan trade between southern and northern Africa. On the menu for the festival will be performances including several African artists who are the source of many musical styles that have conquered the world, like blues, jazz, rock, reggae, bossa nova, salsa, hip hop and rap, all of which are derived from African beats, even if born on U.S. soil or elsewhere. The Azalay Festival will be an opportunity to showcase African music, as it will create opportunities for dialogue between musicians and intellectuals from all sources, but also between music professionals. At a regional level, the conduct of the festival will create a dynamic for the social, economic and cultural needs of the entire Greater Ouarzazate. In parallel, the festival will host a symposium under the theme "Academic: Morocco-Saharan Africa: what history and culture have in common? "And a fair of local products and crafts from the region of Ouarzazate and other parts of Africa. MAP Yacout Info
