In a presentation at the House of Representatives, under the theme "Tourism: Challenges and Prospects", Mr. Haddad argued that the economic potential of different regions need be better exploited to make of Morocco one of 20 leading world tourist destinations.
"Vision 2020 builds on a national strategy that aims to promote the various regions, maintaining their specificities and the natural resources of which they are endowed. It also aims at implementing a structural programme to each region to strengthen and consolidate its economic dynamism," he advised.
As for the challenges the industry faces, Mr. Haddad considers that tourism needs conferences and presentations enabling a sociocultural improvement and an attractiveness of the sector while extending the period of stay. He also pointed out the obligation to continue the development of resorts launched under the programme "Azur 2020".
