Turkey will be the guest of honor at the fourth edition of the International Documentary Film Festival of Khouribga to be held from August 29 to September 1.
Of 74 productions, 12 films were selected and will compete as part of the official competition of this fourth edition, representing Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Spain, France, Egypt, states U.S., Italy, Tunisia and Palestine, in addition to Morocco, said Thursday a statement from organizers.
Films in competition include Marmara in the spotlight (David Segara, Turkey), The Fort (Al Otaib Faisal, Saudi Arabia), Women Refuse Death (Mohammad Kenawi, Italy), Gouli Yhilou (Mohammed Janahi, Bahrain), Machine Man (Roser and Moral Alfnsso Corella, Spain), Iraq: child victims of Fallujah (Feurat Alani, France).
The jury, chaired by Kuwaiti Abdullah Jawdat, media expert and founder of several channels, will award the Grand Prize, the Jury prize and the prize for best direction to the winners of this competition. It will consist of Ms. Rowan Edamen (Qatar), producer and director of programs at Al Jazeera, and coach producer of documentary films Hilmi Etikan (Turkey), producer Fayk Jerada (Palestine), and Abu Abdallah Awad (Morocco) professor at the University Abdelmalek Saadi.
