We are two years old today and are happy to announce that the feedback from our readers is very positive about what we are writing. We continue, as we promised, our coverage of culture and the arts which is booming in Morocco. We think this is important for our society and the world.
We are happy to see that English readership is increasing in Morocco. We will continue our coverage of the cultural world and Morocco's wonderful heritage and traditions which are very much alive, the Gnaoua Festival and Music of the World in Essaouira 24-27 June and The National Festival of Popular Arts in Marrakech 16-24 July are fine examples of this cultural richness. We look forward to more of your comments as this interaction is key to our continuing success as are the articles which some of you have sent us, please keep them coming. Tourism continues to flourish along with festivals of music, cinema and theatre. The impressions of our readers, like Jim Fletcher, who writes about his family holiday in the tourism section are vivid and colourful and we welcome future articles like this.Morocco's long term commitment to continuing to create and improve a first class tourism destination under the guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI is impressive and is yielding results. The World Bank and the IMF have again praised Morocco's management and control of its economy and its banking sector which is performing well despite difficult world trading conditions demonstrating economic stability. The start of phase two of the Tangier Mediterranean Port and the growth of road and rail links provides the infrastructure to underpin growth. Morocco is pursuing the development of renewable energy as a major axis of development, concentrating especially on solar energy and wind power which will improve the environment and also offer Europe the possibility of increased electricity supplies. The Green Plan is concentrating on increasing Morocco's agricultural output and giving the industry the support it needs to ensure increased production and a stronger rural community. We are recording these developments with satisfaction and confidence in Morocco's future. Related Stories
